Colorado Kannada Koota is celebrating Annual Ganesha Chaturthi celebration at Hindu Temple & Cultural Center of the Rockies on Saturday, Sep 6th 2025 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.
Per Drikpanchang, this year Ganesha Chaturthi occurs on Tuesday, Aug 26th 2025 for us in Colorado- *** Time to avoid Moon sighting - 09:48 AM to 09:10 PM ***
It is once-a-year opportunity to serve our community by participating in this celebration.
CKK will host this event via Ganesha Pooje, Cultural program followed by Prasada viniyoga through potluck food. A potluck sheet is created for people to sign up, cook food and bring it to temple on the day of the event. Kindly sign up here - Ganesha Chaturthi 2025 Sign Up Sheet.

Contributions in the form of poems, stories, essays, reflections, humor, or children's literature are invited for inclusion in the collection.

Colorado Kannada Koota has played a significant role in advancing the language, culture, art, and literature of Karnataka in Colorado. Recognized as a World Heritage language, Kannada boasts approximately 2,000 years of history and literary tradition.
For individuals residing in Colorado for business or employment, there is a continuous effort to maintain and impart our mother tongue to the next generation. In pursuit of this objective, CKK, in collaboration with the 'Kannada Academy', has established an online Kannada school—'Colorado Kannada Shale' (CKS).
CKS's mission is to provide systematic instruction in Kannada, leveraging advancements in electronic technology to facilitate mastery of the language. We invite you to take part in this initiative.
ಕೊಲೊರಾಡೋದಲ್ಲಿ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಭಾಷೆ, ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿ, ಕಲೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯವನ್ನು ಮುನ್ನಡೆಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ಕೊಲೊರಾಡೋ ಕನ್ನಡ ಕೂಟವು ಮಹತ್ವದ ಪಾತ್ರವನ್ನು ವಹಿಸಿದೆ. ವಿಶ್ವ ಪರಂಪರೆಯ ಭಾಷೆಯಾಗಿ ಗುರುತಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ಕನ್ನಡವು ಸರಿಸುಮಾರು2,000 ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಇತಿಹಾಸ ಮತ್ತು ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯಿಕ ಸಂಪ್ರದಾಯವನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದೆ.
ವ್ಯಾಪಾರ ಅಥವಾ ಉದ್ಯೋಗಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಕೊಲೊರಾಡೋ ರಾಜ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಿಸುವ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಗಳಿಗೆ, ನಮ್ಮ ಮಾತೃಭಾಷೆಯನ್ನು ಮುಂದಿನ ಪೀಳಿಗೆಗೆ ಉಳಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಮತ್ತು ನೀಡಲು ನಿರಂತರ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನವಿದಾಗಿದೆ. ಈ ಉದ್ದೇಶದ ಅನ್ವೇಷಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ, ಕೊಲೊರಾಡೋ ಕನ್ನಡ ಕೂಟ(CKK), 'ಕನ್ನಡ ಅಕಾಡೆಮಿ'ಯ ಸಹಯೋಗದೊಂದಿಗೆ, 'ಕೊಲೊರಾಡೋ ಕನ್ನಡ ಶಾಲೆ' (CKS) ಆನ್‌ಲೈನ್ ಕನ್ನಡ ಶಾಲೆಯನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಿದೆ. ಈ ಉಪಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾಲ್ಗೊಳ್ಳಲು ನಾವು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಆಹ್ವಾನಿಸುತ್ತೇವೆ.
'ಕನ್ನಡ ಕಲಿ' ಕಲಿಕೆಯ ವಿವರ:
ಕೊಲೊರಾಡೋ ಕನ್ನಡ ಶಾಲೆ ಬಳಸಲಾಗುವ ಪಠ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಕನ್ನಡ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಪ್ರಾಧಿಕಾರ ಅನುಮೋದಿಸಿದೆ. ಈ ಕೋರ್ಸ್ ಅನ್ನು 5 ರಿಂದ 17 ವರ್ಷದೊಳಗಿನ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗಾಗಿ ವಿನ್ಯಾಸಗೊಳಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ ಮತ್ತು ಗೂಗಲ್ ತರಗತಿ ಮೂಲಕ ಆನ್‌ಲೈನ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ವಿತರಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಈ ವಯಸ್ಸಿನ ಗುಂಪುಗಳಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತಿ ತರಗತಿಯ ಅವಧಿಯನ್ನು 45 ರಿಂದ 60 ನಿಮಿಷಗಳವರೆಗೆ ನಿಗದಿಪಡಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಭಾಷಾ ಕಲಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಆಸಕ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಬೆಳೆಸಲು ಪಠ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ಮತ್ತು ಅದರ ಜೊತೆಗಿನ ಪಠ್ಯಪುಸ್ತಕಗಳನ್ನು ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಪಡಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.
'Kannada Kali' Program Details
The Curriculum that will be used is approved by Kannada Development Authority (ಕನ್ನಡ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಪ್ರಾಧಿಕಾರ). This course is designed for children aged 5 to under 18 years and will be delivered online through Google Classroom. Each class session for these age groups is scheduled for 45 to 60 minutes. The curriculum and accompanying textbooks are developed to foster an interest in language learning.
Our qualified instructors employ interactive teaching strategies that accommodate a range of learning styles, ensuring students remain engaged and advance according to their individual abilities. Parents will receive comprehensive updates regarding their child's progress and participation throughout the duration of the course.
The syllabus is structured into eight levels, with each level targeting specific Kannada language proficiency goals and facilitating progressive advancement as students continue. All children commence at Level 1. Electronic versions of textbooks are available in PDF format, and parents may purchase full-color printed textbooks separately if desired.
A member of our community, a Colorado parent, will instruct this course for the children of Colorado. Volunteer instructors will receive foundational training provided by Kannada Academy.
The CKK committee extends its sincere appreciation to all volunteer teachers for their support, dedication, and commitment to the success of this program, as well as to all parents who choose to enroll their children in the 'Kannada Kali' program.
Adults can learn too, however this course is being rolled out with the primary intention of teaching kids. Adults (> 18 years) can learn directly through Kannada Academyvia Mysore University Certification Courses (Basic & Advanced).
CKS 'Kannada Kali' First batch started in March 2021, Second batch in 2022 and Third Batch in 2024.
